We want to hear your views on prison healthcare during the pandemic

We’ve been awarded funding from ESRC to understand more about how healthcare in prisons has been affected during the pandemic. We want to contribute to the work going into ‘build back better’ plans by understanding how prison healthcare has changed as a result of COVID-19, including what has been problematic but also what has been good and what should be retained. Find out more about the study via this link.

how has prison healthcare changed?

what has been problematic?

what has been good?

what should be retained?

We are looking to speak with anyone who was in prison during the pandemic but has since left, front line health care providers and healthcare commissioners or prison governors across English prisons. The interview will be about 45 minutes, over either video or telephone. Prison leavers get a £20 voucher for their time. More information is available via this link. If you would like have any questions, or would like to share your views in an anonymous interview, please email Sarah (sarah.senker@york.ac.uk) or Lucy (lucy.wainwright@york.ac.uk). You can also contact us here.
